5 Tips to Wardrobe Decluttering
With the year coming to an end, I am starting to declutter now to throw out the past to give way to new beginnings🥂. Come on and start the new year afresh together with me, with a new style, clutter-free wardrobe.
Here are my 5 tips that I am leaving you with to kickstart the declutter process.
Tip #1: Staying Positive
Although clearing out your wardrobe seems like a chore, changing your mindset before starting will make this process faster and easier for you.
Tip #2: Empty & Organise
Next, empty out your closet and organise the pile in each category so that you are able to declutter with a clear perception on what is occupying your closet.
Tip #3: Leaving Out the Emotions
Although there are pieces of clothing in your wardrobe that holds sentimental value, if you have not worn it in the last couple months, it’s time to get rid of that piece.
Tip #4: Yes, No, Maybe?
Section your organised pile to three sections;
Yes, No and Maybe.
Once you’re done, try on everything in the “Maybe” pile and evaluate how you feel when you first put it on. If it’s good, keep it. If not, add it to the “No” pile.
Tip #5: Fold, Don't Hang!
Inspired by Kondo’s vertical folding technique makes everything easy to spot and hard to mess up.
Folded this way, clothing looks like fabric origami, ready to line your drawers in neat rows.
